We did the research, talked to the right people (FWC), and finally it’s clear…..

We CAN target goliath grouper – Woo Hoo! Catch and release of course (yes, you DO have to put them back!)

Capt. Marlin Scott interviewed Capt. Chris Johnson on the subject during the From the Water Radio Show this past week. Capt. Chris runs charters out of Marathon, Florida and is very familiar with these huge fish. He explained the rules and then told us the best way to catch them.

Shark fishing in the Florida Keys is one of my favorite types of fishing. Just imagine, you’re on your boat fishing the flats. The water is so crystal clear that you can see everything. When you hook a shark you can see it. In that type of boat you are close to the water, like you’re standing right next to it. It’s quite a thrill!

Capt. Chris Johnson takes clients on shark trips out of Marathon, Florida. Listen in as he explains how it’s done.
